NYDFS requires annual cybersecurity awareness training. Regulation S-P is in force for smaller SEC-registered advisers and broker-dealers. FINRA identifies staff training and tabletop exercises as effective cybersecurity practices. Cyber carriers ask about awareness programs because they price human risk.
